BOOK LAUNCH AND ARTIST TALK WITH PASCAL GRECO

During last year’s lockdown, artist Pascal Greco had planned a trip to Iceland to photograph the country. Due to travel restrictions, he was unable to set out on the journey. He discovered the game Death Stranding with its landscapes reminiscent of Iceland and instead started taking pictures in the game. The project will be published by Chambre Noire in the form of a book titled Place(s) designed by Ann Griffin. It will be officially released on October 18. A limited number of copies will be available exclusively at the event at Fotomuseum Winterthur.

During the artist talk, Greco, a self-taught filmmaker, cinematographer and photographer living in Geneva, will present his work and approach in conversation with Marco De Mutiis, curator of the exhibition How to Win at Photography. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience and a book signing.

The event takes place in English.

Subject to change due to the current situation.

Admission: free

The exhibition How to Win at Photography – Image-Making as Play explores the relationship between photography and play. It investigates the notion of image play, creating unexpected connections between the history of photography, the gamification of the visible as well as practices of image making with and within computer games.
